AGE Mechanical Workshop Supervisor

BAE Systems is the Prime Contractor to provide equipment, support and training to the Sultanate of Oman. We provide maintenance of Royal Air Force of Oman aircraft and train RAFO personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. For such maintenance training, this role is responsible for controlling and managing personnel and resources pertinent to the AGE mechanical trade of the AGE Workshop in support of the RAFO Typhoon Flying programme and the generation of aircraft to achieve the contracted Key Performance Milestones in accordance with best industry practice, BAE Systems procedures, the Maintenance Organisation Exposition and the RAFO Regulatory Framework

Your main responsibilities as an AGE Mechanical Workshop Supervisor will involve:

Undertake detailed inspection, repair and supervision activities on Typhoon AGE Equipment and associated Components.

Assure work carried out has been completed in accordance with the relevant approved Technical Data.

Control and supervision of all engineering and maintenance activities within the scope of the AGE workshop.

Ensuring all maintenance tasks are undertaken in accordance with company/RAFO procedures and processes.

Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and take direction appropriately.

Ensuring that all personnel engaged in activities in areas under your control follow the correct engineering practices, observe safety precautions and that as far as is reasonably practicable no one is exposed to any unnecessary or uncontrolled risk.

Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through the supervision of others. Progress reporting against delivery targets to management.

Ensure all tasks are undertaken in the specified timescales to support operational requirements.

Act as stand-in AGE Team Leader during periods of absence of the incumbent Team Leader

Your skills and qualifications:


Ex-military or industry experience of serving on an operational military flying unit

Thorough working knowledge of Aerospace Ground Equipment

A working knowledge of the Acceptable Means of Compliance documentation set.

Significant experience in a related engineering discipline, with a minimum of five years of operation in the aerospace environment within a maintenance environment.

Proven supervisory ability.

Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices


Recent Typhoon AGE equipment ML2 experience.

An understanding of IMS or similar electronic based reporting systems.

Experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
