HSBC Bank Oman SAOG – Product Manager, Global Trade & Receivable Finance – HSBC – Muscat

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for managing one of the GTRF product families – Documentary Trade or Open Account – managing the product financials including Revenues, Costs and RWA, implementing the relevant product governance policy, support any product development initiatives including deployment of new platforms and e-Channel functionality and providing product expertise to the BD Teams, RMs and other stakeholders.

Principal Accountabilities:
Impact on the Business

1) Managing the Product Results

Manage the product financials including revenues, costs, RWA and other key indicators

Support the Regional PM Head on discussions regarding IT investments, ATP and project deployment

2) Product Management and Development

Provide support to BD and Client Group on all product related aspects of GTRF including input into RFPs

Lead commercialization plans for new or enhanced products, setting and monitoring quantifiable targets and periodically reviewing them with the stakeholders

3) Product Governance

Ensure that all product governance policies and processes are followed in the region

Own the regional product inventory and input to the global Strategic Product Reviews

Ensure that all RPAC and DAC guidelines are followed and appropriately referred for approvals

4) Strategy

Input into all internal and external strategic reviews of the GTRF products

Develop product strategy for new or enhanced products in conjunction with global product team

5) Thought leadership

Provide the required product expertise to all stakeholders

Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.

Leadership and Teamwork

Provide product expertise on complex client requirements and coordinate with other regional and global product teams to ensure that the client is provided the best solution

Work closely with Ops and BD Sales and balance the product governance requirements with revenue growth.

Role Context

GTRF is a growing business and the Product Management team provides the balance of ensuring that governance policies and processes are followed at all times and the revenue initiatives are implemented.

The Product Management team is expected to establish best practises across all regions. They work with minimum supervision and are expected to meet tight deadlines and work with diverse stakeholders.


Knowledge / Experience

Five years banking experience, preferably in a product management, BCRM, risk or FCC role.

Understanding of trade and supply chain finance.

Good understanding of guarantees and DC’s.

Familiarity of the banks process and control functions.

Good understanding of FCC risks.
