Nexus Global Business Solutions: Senior Management Accountant – Functional/Corporate Directorates
Support the Finance Manager in providing strategic support and decision making
support to External Affairs (EVD) and People and Change Directorates (PCD), value adding advice to the Functional/Corporate Directorates and supervise the FBF Team by taking responsibility to provide comprehensive finance support and challenge, while ensuring compliance with internal and external controls and reporting requirements.
Assist the Finance Manager to deliver high quality Management Information reporting based on value drivers in comparison to Budget, Past Year, Latest Estimate etc. and carry out variance analysis along with commentary which is forward looking, scenario based and action oriented.
Lead monthly risk-based expenditure appraisal reviews up to Functional/Corporate Director level, prepare review exposures.
Monitor and control expenditure and latest estimates against the Functional directorate(s) approved budget, review variance analysis and deliver expenditure exposure challenge through leading expenditure performance appraisals and liaise with Fin Ops for any accrual discrepancies.
Advise Line Managers on financial performance and its implications on regular basis and deliver timely and quality performance and cost reporting for Functional/Corporate Directorates and Corporate reporting purposes.
Coordinate the Functional/Corporate Directorates’ Opex savings delivery process by monitoring the delivery and tracking of Opex savings, review the Opex savings report for PCD and EAD, and coordinate input to Cost Efficiency Committee and Shareholder review.
Assist the Finance Manager in identifying key factors impacting the business strategy and sharing the same with the business team on regular intervals to achieve long term goals and vision of the organization
Provide valuable insights, interpreting, explaining and driving the performance within the business and assist them in making more informed business decisions.
Support the Finance manager in advising the business team on key business assumptions, challenges, risks,opportunities and help them in preparing the long term Strategic Plan for the organization.
Participate in the annual Program Build Exercise, perform driver based scenario based budgeting for EVD and PCD and help prepare the forward looking plan for the year
Create EVD and PCD’s Operating Budget templates, ensure timely and accurate data collection, coordinate budget analysis and budget reviews, challenge business for budget data and Opex savings initiatives, and prepare quality budget reporting documentation
Participate and provide challenge to Capex Program Build, provide Capex analysis to support do-ability challenge, coordiante and challenge the Capital Investment Budget
Support the team in provisioning robust Manpower Tariffs to the assets and functions as part of the program build process
Support the Finance Manager in the Budget Allocation process across the Functional/Corporate Directorates
Perform Zero based, activity based budgeting using KPI trends and analysis
Review budget transfers and ensure full compliance with corporate guidelines, MOBA and FCM
Support Finance Manager to identify operating cost saving and increasing efficiency opportunities within the FBF operations through driver based and scenario based budgeting and planning
Perform budget management- Assist Finance Manager in managing contingency including draw-downs, business plans, scope change and budget revisions.
Support the finance manager in decision making by providing inputs in form of historical trend analysis of capital and operating expenditures.
Conduct an in-depth analysis and assist the Finance Manager t challenge the amounts and phasing of contingency and project schedules and provide inputs to do-ability reviews
Coordinate timely, quality and compliant Enhanced Budget Proposals with the Planner
Review business justification, economies and financial data and ensure alignment with PEEP and SAP
Thoroughly understand the business operations, drivers, overall contract strategy/tactics and controls, and keep up with overall Upstream Industry developments.
Build effective relationships with the business and other stakeholders
Build strong professional relationships with the Finance Operations Team and ensure effective business communication with them
Support Finance Manager to carry out financial evaluations for vendors
Support the Finance Manager in the DRB process and other decision making process and prevalidate information to be discussed in DRB related to project cost estimates,economics, schedule and value proposition
Assist Finance Manager in identifying, challenging and supporting the implementation of cost efficiency using trend analysis and data analytics and ensure replication across the business
Support Finance Manager in ensure adequate risk based project/contract control framework is in place, validate its effectiveness, challenge inadequacies and address any gaps as required
Support the Finance Manager in assuring compliance to clients internal controls,CMF, Company Policies, Work Practices, Procedures and Guidelines as defined by Corporate Finance, Finance Control Manual and IFRS
Support the Finance Manager in ensuring sound financial authority structure in line with MOBA and manage proposals for changes to MOBA
Assist the Finance Manager in contributing to and where relevant coordinating the Directorates’s annual Assurance Plan
Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring robust process is in place to proactively drive timely close out, follow up and reporting of Business Control Incident (BCI)/Learning incident (LI), Internal Audits and State Audits pending action items related to Directorate.
Supervise the Finance, Planning and SAP team and ensure competence development of finance staff and pro-active contribution to FBMLT and FDLT
Support the Finance Manager to fulfill the Functional/Corporate Directorates’ and Finance Functional strategic agenda
Supervise the Corporate Functions Finance Team, running engagements, developing competency and business partnering. Enable best practices and cross learning
Ensure consistency in approach between the business finance teams, and enforce sharing best practices.
Provide guidance and coaching, define and follow up on learning and development, execute performance appraisal and support competency development for the FBF team.
Identify,share and assist Finance Manager in implementing continuous Lean improvement ideas/opportunities within the department using Lean principles and methodologies
Support the Finance Manager in facilitating Performance improvement, Contract reviews, process reviews of management and business processes,SAP system improvements and decision making processes by including Lean principles into them.
Support the Finance Manager in ensuring the OLAs are maintained within limits and monitor the SLA’s and provide inputs on delays of SLAs by the Finance Operations Team
Keep track of the delays/issues/escalations for Finance Operations team related activities and provide the appropriate inputs to the Finance Manager on a regular basis
Support the Finance Manager while acting as focal points for identification and routing of queries, issues surfaced on transactions pertaining to insurance, Tax (VAT,Withholding tax) and treasury.
University degree in (Business)Finance and/or Accounting, preferably with professional accounting certification (ACA,ACCA,CPA or CIMA) or MBA with specialization in Finance
Minimum 7 years of relevanct experience (minimum 8 years of experience for expatriates)in a variety of Finance Positions.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Business Finance.
