JOB PURPOSE:

To achieve budgeted gross margin and unit sales for used car / bikes operations as well as fulfil company objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business objectives:

Achieve or exceed budgeted sales gross margins of used cars/ bikes to meet business objectives.

Used car stock planning & procurement:

Source and procure quality used cars to build/ replenish stocks that can be offered for sale.

Used car quality:

Ensure vehicles are repaired to meet Company standards on used cars.

Payment:

Release payment for vehicles purchased to their respective sellers to settle company’s dues to suppliers / sellers.

Customer satisfaction:

Provide after sales support to achieve customer satisfaction.

Inventory control:

Exercise discretion in what to buy when and at what price to buy and whether to retail or trade – off to optimise the stock within given inventory.

Development of human resources:

Establish manpower requirements and recommend appropriate training programs to maximise productivity.

Trade-in car objective:

Increase the ratio of purchases to appraisal with a view to boost new car sales.

SOP’s

Ensure management system requirements and SOPs are implemented in the area of responsibility

Ensure customer/associate engagement is enhanced and ensure customer complaints are resolved through taking necessary actions

JOB CONTEXT:

The department works as an autonomous profit centre with special emphasis on boosting new car sales. The job holder has to be well versed, with all the brands available in the used car market in Oman and constantly monitor the developments in the car market through an informal network of his own contacts to remain competitive.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge: Graduate in any discipline, preferable MBA

Field of specialization: Sales/ Sales administration of high value consumer durables, Buying and selling used cars.

Minimum Experience: 7 years in direct selling of consumer durables, of which 3 years, should be in a managerial position.

Skills: Man-management, leadership, planning, analytical, organizing and interpersonal. Appraising the condition and cost of used cars.

Behavioural Competencies:

  • Competent to lead a team of sales executives.
  • Competent to comprehend, modern auto vehicle features.
  • Competent to coach Sales executives, on selling techniques and customer care.
  • Competent to appraise the condition and cost of used cars
